This is good news for all candidates that there is no change in the Exam Pattern. The only change is the mode of exam from Offline to Computer-based Exam.
Paper-1 : Quantitative Abilities (100 Questions of 200 marks)
Paper-2 : English Language and Comprehension (200 Questions of 200 marks).
Paper-3 : Statistics (100 Questions of 200 marks).
Paper-4 : Finance and Accounts (100 Questions of 200 marks).
NOTE: for each section, there would be two hours given to you.
SSC CGL Tier-3 Exam Detail
This is descriptive (Hindi/English) exam with paper pen mode.
SSC CGL Tier-4 Exam Detail
This exam is proficiency (skill test), candidates have to show their real knowledge apart from bookish knowledge.

Let’s start with the basic knowledge about the Exam!
- SSC CGL Exam is expanded as – Staff Selection Commission -Combined Graduate Level Examination.
- SSC combined graduate level exam is conducted by Staff Selection Commission every year for the recruitment of different Central Civil posts under various reputed government organization.
- SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination is an open- competitive written examination conducted for the recruitment of personnel for Grade- B and C categories posts in various Ministries, Departments, and Organizations. The written test of this exam includes four tiers; Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4.
SSC CGL Selection Procedure
The selection procedure of SSC Graduate Level Exam is based on four stages known as tiers.
Earlier the SSC Graduate Level Selection Process included only two tiers (tier 1 & tier 2) along with final interviews. In the year 2016, substantial changes were made to the CGL Exam recruitment process.
They introduced tier 3 as descriptive paper and tier 4 as DEST/CPT in the recruitment procedure and detached the Interview phase.

SSC CGL Tier-1 Exam Detail
- The overall time for CGL Tier-1 online exam is 60 minutes only
- No. of Questions in the exam will be 100 only.
- There will be 25 Questions per Section.
- Negative marking in Tier-1 Exam is 0.50 marks

- General Awareness (25 Questions of 50 Marks)
- English (25 Questions of 50 Marks)
